So, we’ve been dealing with a sick baby all week. It’s frustrating, but what are you gonna do? I’ll tell you what you’re gonna do – you’re gonna take off work, sit around the house and watch crap cartoons, attempt to work as much as you can and eat junk food. That was the day Wednesday, her mother stayed home in the morning to take care of our sick daughter while I came home and stayed with her in the afternoon. She literally laid on the couch the entire day – sleeping, watching cartoons or just staring oddly at me. And every time I tried to leave her said, I heard, “Daddy, lay down!” Who can resist that?! So, we sat on the couch all afternoon watching the Shushy-byes, Rusillo & Kanell, Harry the Bunny and the Notekins; while I tried to do a little work on my laptop.
Thursday was different, still difficult, but in a different way. We maybe could have sent her to school, but didn’t want to risk it, as we didn’t want her to be sent home again and have to keep her out Friday as well. Thursday she just wanted to play all afternoon. I was still giving her the medicine (pediatrician’s orders), but that girl just wanted to play games and be goofy all afternoon. And as you can see from this photo, she was having fun doing it…here she was demanding to try on her Mother’s slippers. And while she didn’t actually say, “Take my photo!” she seemed to like it when I pulled out my phone to take a picture. We’re still getting used to her actually posing for photos, but it’s starting to happen more and more.
And by Friday she was back to normal, and back to school and back to work.
